There is lots of sight seeing that can be done when on a trip to Munich. It is a great idea to flag off your trip with the Hofbrauhaus. It is a world famous tavern-site in the center of Munich where beer has been swilled since 1605 when it became the Royal brewery. The beer is served by Bavarian dressed young women giving a feeling of Germany in the 17th century.
The second place to stop would be the Marienplatz, in the center of Munich. This is where you can see the historical buildings of Glockenspiel. It was built in the 19th century. If you happen to be here at 11 a.m., 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. you can hear all the 43 bells of the building chiming together.
The Olympia Park in Munich is one of the wonders of modern civil construction. It was completed in 1972 for the modern Olympics and can hold total of 70000 spectators. The Park is topped by the largest roof in the world and extends 720,000 square foot. The BMW museum is also close to the park where you can see some of the inventions of German automobile engineering.
The Nymphenburg Palace should be the next place to visit on your itinerary. It was originally a summer home for the Munich aristocracy. Tourists can visit the villa and the gardens and also have a glimpse of 36 provocative paintings which were ordered by King Ludwig 1. Alte Pinakothek or Munich’s art museum should definitely be visited to complete your trip. The museum has nearly 1000 paintings of some of the greatest artists in Europe. The museum has arts of Italian masters like Titan and Botticelli.
